GENERAL

  • Friends who want to get their friends, and their friends’ friends, together for live music and copious amounts of laughter on a gorgeous BCS beach where the sun sets into the ocean.

  • The area where Bajaja is happening is so gorgeous. It is the only place we have been where there are palm trees, cacti, mountains, beach and ocean. Global travelers say there are so few places like Playa San Pedrito.

We want you to see this beach!

  • The world needs human reconnection and have we mentioned we want to show off this amazing beach? Why not in an intimate festival setting with a musical backdrop?

People love traveling to amazing places and you know we love the arts! As we have grown wiser we prefer more personal experiences, engaging with like minded people, and this weekend is just that!

Plus someone born in 1973/1983 is turning 50/40 every day this year 🥳

  • Check out the Plan Your Trip page for our step-by-step guide on joining us Nov. 28-Dec. 2.

  • Yes! On Wednesday at 7pm, La Coqueta (at the So Far So Good hotel in Cerritos) will host a welcome party featuring the Latin fusion beats of Los Hijos del Tropico and an umissable performance by Lantz Lazwell.

  • The local currency is Mexican pesos MXN but US dollars are also accepted at many places. However, in most cases you will receive change in MXN regardless of which currency you used.

  • It doesn’t hurt to have a bit of cash on hand when traveling internationally but Amaya and our vendors accept credit cards (except discover, sorry) and digital payments like apple pay or google pay.

There will not be atms at the venue. Our local experts recommend getting cash from the ATMs at the airport as you exit customs. If you find a Banorte ATM it will have the lowest fees and highest limits. And pro tip: if the ATM asks you to accept a conversion into pesos select “deny conversion”, you’ll get your money but at the conversion rate charged by your own bank.

  • Nope, Mexico uses the same 120V plug-in as in the US. A lot of rooms have limited outlets so bringing a small power strip can be helpful.

  • We love Selecto Chedruai in San Jose del Cabo and Agricole Coopertiva in El Pescadero (it’s like the whole foods of baja). A few other great options are Frutería Hermanos Selgado in El Pescadero, Mercado El Sol II in Todos Santos and MiniSúper Los Cerritos on the big road before you turn into the Cerritos beach area. Oxxo, with locations all over baja, will have a 7-11 type assortment of drinks + snacks.

  • Should you need medical attention you’ll find Hospital St. Judes Medical Center in Todos Santos, which is similar to a robust urgent care facility in the US. The nearest full service facilities (emergency room etc) are Hospital H+ Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo and BlueNet Hospitals in Cabo San Lucas.

VENUE

  • The concerts will be held at Amaya Beach Bar in El Pescadero, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

    AMAYA Website || Google Maps

  • Amaya is a bar right on the beach in Pescadero run by American and Mexican friends - friends who have a dream of locals, expats and travelers coming together and enjoying the absolute beauty of this unique area.

We believe in them just like we believe in you!

  • The festival is Nov 30 - Dec 2 with all music beginning daily around 3pm.

  • Music will go from around 3pm to midnight each night. The sunset (5:30pm-ish) is the highlight of the day, we hope to see you before then!

We encourage Fest attendees to explore and enjoy all the beauty of the Baja during the day. Music will start mid-afternoon and amplified music will finish at midnight.

This gives you plenty of time to do things like go fishing, see beaches, chill at your pool, do morning yoga, daytime drinking, see art galleries, eat local food or simply relax and do nothing at your charming sleep spots.

  • We have confidence you will find your crowd whether you’re just-up, or still-up at sunrise.

Many just-ups were once still-ups. Follow your bliss 😎

  • There is no camping on the venue premises or on Mexican Federal land. Although unaffiliated with Bajaja, we have found a few options you could look into:

  • There are lots of amazing options, it all depends on what vibe you’re after. Hotels and house rentals are plentiful - from the nearby beach community called Cerritos, town of El Pescadero to the quaint old town Todos Santos - each are about 15 min or less from the venue. These are the places you would search on housing rental sites or when looking for a hotel.

Although unaffiliated with Bajaja, some housing rental sites to check include:

    Ricardo Amigo in El Pescadero

    TuCasaBaja

  • Separate. Amaya will be serving a very special limited menu and we will also have several food trucks serving yummy things including tacos (of course!), south asian cuisine and more. Specific menus and schedule TBD at this time. We will have vegan options available.

  • Each night Amaya will be hosting Chef Roberto Vilchis-Soto for beautiful food featuring local seafood from the Pacific and Sea of Cortez sourced fresh daily at 2pm along with some favorite dishes from Amaya’s regular menu. Expect seafood + chorizo paella, rojo camarones, chicken and beef skewers, lentil salad (vegan), veggie spring rolls (rolls are vegan, dip on the side may contain fish sauce), sashimi, ceviche and the spectacular almejas chocolata aka chocolate clams, named for the rich chocolate color of their shells - not for the flavor.

  • Conchinita Pork Favor - conchinita smoked + marinated pork tacos + tortas

    Calypso Thai + Vietnamese -

Pescadero62 - mole ribs, barbacoa tacos + smoked beet salad

Tiki Santos - think seafood forward, fresh + light things like ceviche, shrimp cocktail, tacos and aguas frescas

La Dama Cajun - chicken, shrimp, pork + vegan gumbos and pork jambalaya; ice cream sandwiches (regular and gluten free option!))

  • Until they run out or 10pm daily, whichever comes first.

  • Baja is a family friendly location, children and families are welcome at Amaya however anyone age 7 and over must have their own ticket to enter. Entry for kids ages 6 and under is free; tickets for kids age 7-12 are $300 pesos and must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult; anyone 13+ must have a regular priced ticket.

  • There will be onsite staff to help with any ADA needs - note the concert is on the beach, toes in the sand.

Transpo'

  • Our Bajaja Shuttle options include to + from the SJD airport up to the festival area, plus daily transit to + from your lodging to our venue, Amaya.

However, there’s a lot to see across Baja California Sur. If you’re adventurous or want more freedom + flexibility, you’ll want to rent a car.

Many roads, particularly those near the beach (and our venue) are not paved, not well lit at night and often do not jive with Google maps. This is part of the fun that is Baja but it isn’t for everyone & that is why we created the Bajaja Shuttle service.

You can ride the Concert Shuttle as often as you choose during the service hours 2pm - 2am.

You can go from one hotel zone to another or to the venue.

Heads up, if you’re dying to see a particular act, make sure to plan accordingly, shuttle rides need to be scheduled one hour (60 min) in advance.

If you purchased transportation tickets, please let us know where to pick you up by filling out this form.

Check the transportation page for all the details.

  • You can buy our Bajaja Airport Shuttle to/from SJD Los Cabos International Airport - a great way to meet fellow party-goers along the way!

Alternately, shuttle buses, taxis, vans and rental cars are readily available at the airport.

If renting a car, we advise getting a rental car from Cactus Rental cars, you can use code BAJAJA for a discount.

If you purchased transportation tickets, please let us know where to pick you up by filling out this form.

Check the transportation page for all the details.

  • We recommend buying our local Bajaja Concert Shuttle driven by sober professionals who know the area well. Many Baja roads are not paved, not well lit and often do not jive with google maps. The shuttles will run between the hotel zones and the venue.

  • Absolutely. Beautiful La Paz is an hour-ish drive each way from Cerritos Beach / El Pescadero / Todos Santos. We love Baja Beaters in Todos Santos for truck rental but cars will also do just fine on the highway between Todos + La Paz.

  • Yes, but it will be limited. Parking passes are $300 MXN (that’s mexican pesos) per day.

  • NEITHER are 100% accurate. Roads in baja are frequently unmarked, not well lit and often not in sync with what you’ll see on google maps or waze. This is one of the reasons night driving is tricky and discouraged unless you are familiar with the area.

  • SJD - Los Cabos International Airport

  • Please get in touch with our transpo team right away - send a WhatsApp message to 213-605-4171 or by emailing guests@bajajamusicfest.com
